Healthy Body
The miraculous systems of our body are pictured below. Our body systems are very closely interconnected and work synergistically with each other. Here’s a few examples.
• Your digestive health directly impacts your immune system
and visa versa; approximately 70% of your immune system is
actually located in your digestive system and depends on
prebiotics and probiotics to give it a boost.
• Because the digestive system takes in most of the
nutrients our bodies need to function properly, it directly
affects every body system.
• The lymphatic system is our bodies flushing system and
also works closely with the immune system. It relies on bone
marrow to produce lymphocytes and the muscular system to
keep it circulating since it does not have its own pump.
• The integumentary system (our skin) takes in Vitamin D
which is important for healthy bones.
• The urinary system helps regulate the flow of fluid,
helping to control blood pressure which is very important
for the cardiovascular system. This system also helps get
rid of waste products in the blood.
• The nervous system controls all of the messages that are
sent to the other systems to keep them working flawlessly
together. It is highly impacted by the digestive system and
what we eat (or don’t eat).
• The endocrine system (hormones) works closely with the
reproductive system and plays a role in growth and
development of the brain, regulating sugar in a our blood,
emotional health, and sleep, just to name a few.
When we have all of these systems working together flawlessly we are in optimal health. Most of us do not consider ourselves in that "optimal health" category and those who are, know that it is a journey that requires lifestyle changes and long term maintenance. And, they also know that it is well worth the effort to have optimal health, wellness and vitality!
